2019/2020 EPL: How Did Your Team Perform?

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, which led to the suspension of football activities in England and across the globe, there were some doubts about whether the season would be completed. After three months, the season was allowed to continue, and we still got to witness excellent performances from some clubs while others endured a somewhat disappointing season.
But how did your team perform this season? Let's begin with a review and rating of the Top 10.

Liverpool - 1st Position(Champions)
Jurgen Klopp and his team became champions with seven games to spare. I guess no one could have predicted that. They took the league by storm with world-class players in every position on the field. They were on a different level to every other team. They only dropped seven points before claiming the title in 31 matches; what a way to end their 30-year wait. They couldn't have done it any better.
However, with 99 points in total, they couldn't match the 100 points set by last season's winners, Manchester City.
Rating 10/10

Manchester City - 2nd Position
Despite having some of the best players in the league and a depth other teams crave,  the Citizens couldn't match the form and class of runaway winners, Liverpool. Many have predicted them to retain the title. The absence of Vincent Kompany, a highly influential player, and a rock-solid defender, was a huge miss for the City team. They lost a whopping nine matches! That was surprising because a team in this capacity is expected to lose way fewer than that. Not a good season for the sky blue team.
Rating 7/10

Manchester United - 3rd Position
Finishing among the top four and qualifying for the champions league was nothing close to feasible for the Red Devils in the early stages of the league. The team lacked cohesion; things began to turn around thanks to a sensation in January signing Bruno Fernandes and fascinating teenage talent in Mason Greenwood.  United fortunes changed, and they were one of the best teams in the closing stages of the league.
Rating 7.5/10

Chelsea - 4th Position
Frank Lampard deserves some credits for his debut season as a Premier League Manager. Operating a team under a transfer ban is no easy task. Thanks to amazing homegrown talents in Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, they were able to finish strong. However, they squandered about an 11-point gap and finished below Manchester United.
Rating 7/10

Leicester City - 5th Position
Winning eight matches in a row, and setting a record for the highest margin scoreline having defeated Southampton 9-0, this team got all it takes to push for glory. They looked more assured of champions league qualification than any other team. They were so good, and they played well in the first half of the season, earning themselves a 14-point advantage in the champions league position. Things went south in the later stages of the league, and they fell out of the top 4 to finish in 5th position. Disappointing, but they had a good season.
Rating 7/10

Tottenham Hotspurs - 6th Position
Spurs parted with head coach Mauricio Pochettino after a disappointing start to the season and replaced him with Jose Mourinho. Although there was noticeable improvement, they managed to secure a Europa League spot. Still, lots of work to be done, and they also need to improve significantly.
Rating 5/10

Wolves - 7th Position
7th position in the league is an excellent finish for the Wolves. They are a constant threat to opposing teams. With exciting and thrilling talents in their ranks and several A-Grade players as Adama Traore, who led the chart in successful dribbles per game, Raul Jimenez scored 13 goals and midfield maestro Joao Moutinho plucky stuff too. Nuno Espirito Santo's men are a real force to be reckoned with.
Rating 7/10

Arsenal - 8th Position
This season is undoubtedly a season not to remember for the gunners. Terrible start to the season led to the sacking of head coach, Unai Emery. However, there are positive signs under the management of Mikel Arteta. Hopefully, he can turn the club's fortunes around next season.
Rating 4/10

Sheffield United - 9th Position
At some point, they were fighting for a spot in Europe's elite competition, and they were so close to qualifying for the Europa League. They qualified via playoff from the championship, and many thought they would struggle to cope with top-flight football. Magnificent work from head coach Chris Wilder, finishing in the top half of the league table, is an excellent result for Sheffield United.
Rating 8/10

Burnley - 10th Position
Burnley had a difficult start to the season that saw them secure just one win from their first five league games. One of the most underrated teams in the league. Burnley played some exceptional football under manager Sean Dyche. Some of their notable performances include but not limited to a two-nil victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford and a draw at Anfield to winners, Liverpool.
Rating 7/10

  1. Liverpool lost form after Corona break. I expected them to end the season with over 100 points but they didn't. My rating is 8 /10

    1. True, but then they knew the league title was already wrapped up and a matter of formality. I'm not sure they cared about how they win the league but that they do
